Update: 062315 at 3 pm

As of 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23rd, it feels like not much has changed: only residents are allowed into the village of Coal City; first responders are still dealing with blocked streets, downed lines, checking houses, etc.  Therefore there is not yet a list of tasks for volunteers to do.  Yet we’re reading on Facebook and elsewhere that neighbors are helping neighbors and most are posting that they’re feeling good….that material items can be replaced.  They’re feeling the love!!

That being said, COAD volunteers are in Coal City with officials there…waiting for a list of volunteer tasks.

In the meantime, the COAD has posted volunteer application forms which are available at https://www.wecareofgrundy.com/downloads.htm

Updates are posted on the COAD Facebook page (see below) and donations are rolling in via the Community Foundation’s website.

Thanks to all who have helped spread the word over the past 18 hours — your social media and patience are greatly appreciated!!
