Aug. 30, 2011

Devan Gagliardo was recently named the new program director for the Community Foundation of Grundy County.

A native of Gardner, Devan is the daughter of the late Melvin Jackman and the late Madeline Jackman-Willet and the step daughter of Bill Willet of Ottawa. She and her husband, Jason, reside in Coal City and they attend Village Christian Church in Minooka.

“We are very excited to have Devan joining our team, said Julie Buck, executive director. “She has well-rounded education and life experiences that we know will be useful to for moving our projects forward. We interviewed many qualified applicants – too bad we couldn’t hire them all.”

Before the Community Foundation, Devan was a career counselor for Cornerstone Services in Joliet. She has also worked for the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office and First Federal Savings Bank.

Both Grundy and Will Counties have benefited from her participation on Victim Impact Panels with her personal story of the effects of drinking and driving.

Devan has two bachelor’s degrees (Psychology and Organizational Communication) from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis.

“I’m excited to be working in Grundy County because I love small town living,” Devan said.

Her first day on the job will be Tuesday, Sept. 6, and she will jump right into the Grundy Partnership for Children and the Behavioral Health Alliance.
