September 19, 2019, would have been Allison Rivera’s 26th birthday.
Sadly, Allison died of undiagnosed cardiac issues in 2011 shortly after her 18th birthday.
However, her family took actions to keep her memory alive. First, they took Allie’s writings of short stories and poems and compiled them into a book, “Allison’s Wonderland.” Secondly, they established an endowment at the Community Foundation of Grundy County to provide scholarship money so that Minooka Community High School can give out two scholarships in Allie’s name each spring – one for science and one for literary, two of Allie’s favorite subjects.
